NAPA Auto Parts

Small Business Ownership

Owning a NAPA Auto Parts store in the city can be a rewarding experience, as it allows you to be your own boss and have control over the direction of your business.

One of the joys of owning a small business is the sense ofaccomplishment and pride that comes with building something from the ground up. The opportunity to create a business that reflects your values, interests, and vision. Additionally, owning a business can provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment.

We interviewed CraigPestone of Riverside CT, owner of one of the largest NAPA Distribution centers
in New York City. “Our business always had a robust servicestation customer base but we underperformed on the fleet/commercial side. When I took over operations I pivoted our strategy towards servicing the larger fleets in the city. It’s easier said than done. Learning the bid processes of the city agencies, a complete overhaul of our IT capabilities, massive outlays for inventory and least but perhaps most important traditional person-to-person sales outreach. It was worth every ounce of work and I could not be more proud of our team for getting us to where we are today.”

Another joy of owning a small business is the opportunity toconnect with your community and build relationships with your customers. By providing a valuable service and building trust with your customers, you can create a loyal customer base that supports your business.

However, it's important to keep in mind that owning a small business also comes with its challenges. It can be difficult to compete with larger retailers, and it requires a lot of hard work, dedication, and the
ability to adapt to changes in the market. Additionally, running a small business can be stressful, and it can be difficult to find a balance between work and personal life.

Overall, owning a NAPA Auto Parts store in the city can be afulfilling and enjoyable experience, but it is not without its challenges. It requires hard work, dedication, and the ability to adapt to changes in the market, but it also provides the opportunity to be your own boss, connect with your community, and build something that reflects your values and vision.
